How do parents pay school fees on VAS?

Parents pay through your school’s M-PESA Paybill or Till. They use the learner’s admission number as the account reference so payments match the right student. Receipts are recorded in the school system and visible to finance staff and guardians.

Do we need a new Paybill number?

No. Most schools keep the Paybill or Till they already use. VAS maps incoming references to student fee accounts so bursars can reconcile without renaming your M-PESA shortcode.

Can parents see receipts and balances?

Yes. Once a payment is matched to an admission number, the receipt and remaining balance show on the parent portal. Schools can also print or share receipts from finance.

Is this the same as paying a VAS subscription?

No. School-fee collection (parents paying the school) is separate from your VAS plan. Plan activation uses Vector Automation’s Paybill or bank transfer — this page is about collecting tuition for your learners.
